Golden Artist OPEN COLORS Acrylics are a slow-drying paint with a slightly softer consistency than the Heavy Body paints from Golden.
The increased working time of these acrylic paints allows artists to use more traditional oil-painting techniques when working with them. Thick applications can dry extremely slowly, so it is recommended artists only use these OPEN Colours thinly (<1mm). The drying time can be accelerated by mixing OPEN with faster-drying acrylics like the Golden Fluid and Heavy Body ranges.
The slow-drying capability of OPEN Acrylics also makes them suitable for some printmaking techniques.
